Many ‘inclusion’ workshops and resources focus on teaching strategies that target “how to include this student” or are general tools for inclusion. Although these are incredibly helpful, we argue that in order to shift our thinking about the inclusive environment in physical education we need to look inwards and be reflective about our assumptions, expectations, fears, hesitations, and situations of inclusion. This session flips the lens from the traditional approach of applying interventions on students and the environment to considering what we can learn from our hidden assumptions, challenges, and discomforts.
